We are excited to announce the next round of featured guests for the 2025 festival! Meet these incredible comics creators, along with our previously announced featured guests and the rest of our extraordinary exhibitors, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Saturday, June 7 from 10AM - 7PM EST and Sunday, June 8 from 10AM - 5PM EST.
London, Ontario's Derek Laufman is a comic artist/illustrator whose many works include Ruinworld, Bot-9, The Witch of Wickerson, and new series Crimson Fall. He's worked with Marvel, DC, DreamWorks, Hasbro, Mattel, and I Hate Fairyland from Image Comics.
Sofia Alarcon is a multi-disciplinary artist from Guatemala, now based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Her self-published series Endsickness was nominated for a Broken Pencil award and two Doug Wright awards, and the completed anthology is now available from Conundrum Press!
Cassandra Calin is a cartoonist known for her semi-autobiographical webcomic, Cassandra Comics, where she talks about life with curly hair, high expectations, and other daily problems. Originally from Romania, she came to Canada as a child. The New Girl is her long-form graphic novel debut.
Henry Barajas is a Latinx author from Tucson, AZ best known for his graphic memoir La Voz De M.A.Y.O. Tata Rambo and Historias de Resistencia. His latest, Death to Pachuco #1, is a Chicano noir set during the Zoot Suit Riots/1943 wartime Los Angeles with Rachel Merrill.
NYC's Rachel Merrill is a comic artist and illustrator who's appeared in The New Yorker, Z2’s Eisner-nominated Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes, and the Ignatz Award-winning Comics for Choice. She's also the artist behind Death to Pachuco with Henry Barajas.
