JOHNNIE CHRISTMAS
Johnnie Christmas is a #1 New York Times Best Selling graphic novelist. Best known for co-creating the series ANGEL CATBIRD with celebrated writer Margaret Atwood, he has adapted William Gibson’s lost screenplay for ALIEN 3 into a critically acclaimed graphic novel of the same name. He was nominated for the Outstanding Cartoonist 2019 Joe Shuster Award for his graphic novel, FIREBUG. He also co-created the series SHELTERED. A graduate of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, he earned a BFA in Communication Design/Illustration. He currently lives in Vancouver.
JO RIOUX
Jo Rioux is an Ottawa born author and illustrator of children's books. Since graduating Sheridan college in illustration, she has illustrated young adult books, chapter books and picture books, but her biggest passion was and remains comic books. Her debut graphic novel Cat's Cradle went on to win the 2012 Joe Shuster award for best comic for kids. She lives in the lush suburbs of her home town, where she spends her time drawing, reading, teasing her dog and spinning tales of magic and monsters.
LEE LAI
Lee Lai was born in 1993 in Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. Currently, Lai makes comics and illustrations in Tio'tia:ke (Montreal), Quebec. Her short story comics have been featured in The New Yorker, The Lifted Brow, Room Magazine, and Everyday Feminism.
CONOR STECHSCHULTE
Conor Stechschulte grew up in rural Pennsylvania and graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art 2008. He lives in Chicago, IL.

KATHERINE BATTERSBY
Katherine is the critically acclaimed author and illustrator of twelve children’s books published around the world, including Perfect Pigeons, Trouble, and the popular graphic novel series, Cranky Chicken. Her books have received glowing reviews in the New York Times, starred Kirkus reviews and have been named CBC Children’s Choice books. She is regularly booked to speak in schools, libraries and at festivals and she is a passionate advocate for literacy and the arts. In another life, Katherine worked for many years as a pediatric occupational therapist, specializing as a children’s counsellor. She grew up by the beach in Australia and now lives in Ottawa.
