LAST CALL: TCAF Hotel Block - deadline to book is Friday May 9th!

Last call! REMINDER: The hotel block has been extended a few days! Please book by Friday May 9th!

Hotels in downtown Toronto in June are expensive - our hotel block is a good rate for downtown Toronto and very well situated - it is a 3-5 min walk to the Mattamy Athletic Centre and very close to grocery stores, amenities, and the subway

(American friends: reminder that with the exchange rate our hotel block works out to be ~$225 USD/night).

Also if you stay in the hotel block, you’re staying with TCAF friends and we have plans! Including some late night drink n’ draws and D&D events!

Selling at TCAF

  • For Canadian exhibitors - we recommend using Square, bank account e-transfers, cash, or having a QR code with your online store or Paypal account easily linked

  • For Non-Canadian exhibitors - if this is your first time (or first time for awhile) travelling to TCAF please note that your American or International Square will NOT work in Canada; Square is country specific and does not support cross border payments. Also, please note that e-transfer methods such as Venmo or Zelle are not supported in Canada. However, there are some cross border options and suggestions that are easier than you might think including:

    • PayPal! - your PayPal wallet works across multiple countries and currencies. Yes, we know PayPal has its pros and cons but it is a very easy option well supported across countries and currencies. An easy exhibitor option would be to have a QR code with a link to your PayPal account or online store prominently displayed on your table.

    • Cash - always a good option!

    • Renting a Canadian Square reader from TCAF - TCAF has a number of Square readers we can rent out for the weekend (sign up form for that coming next issue!). However, please know that this is not a seamless process and - similar to PayPal - any rented Square readers also have a small fee (around 5% on transactions)

Support TCAF Update

TCAF is proud to champion comics as a vital art form: In this political climate, protecting the arts as a source of revolutionary self-expression and source for solidarity has never been more important. But like so many nonprofit arts organizations in our city, TCAF is experiencing financial challenges. Our new venue is an exciting opportunity for us to reach new audiences and add more artists as exhibitors, but it also comes with significant new expenses. As a largely volunteer-run festival with no full-time staff members, raising these funds has been an intense sprint.

Thank you to the more than 375 artists, publishers, and TCAF boosters who have already contributed to our Support TCAF fundraising initiative. Every donation above $5 adds your name to our wall of supporters and we are so grateful to see such a large number of names on that wall. Please continue to spread the word! As a free nonprofit arts festival committed to staying free and accessible and right in the heart of downtown Toronto, we appreciate your support and every dollar helps!

Stay well comics friends!

Be sure to follow TCAF on Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube to stay up to date on our latest public announcements. And don’t forget to sign up for our Public Newsletter.

Looking forward to seeing you in Toronto soon-ish!

All our best,
Amie, Mandy, and the rest of Team TCAF
