2022 BLIND DATE PROJECT
TCAF and Ministerio de Cultura are proud to announce the return of the BLIND DATE project (Cita a ciegas)!
From 2018 to 2020, BLIND DATE was a yearly project that brought together two comic artists — one from Canada, and one from Colombia — to create a shared digital graphic work over the course of one month. Each pair used the internet to develop the final piece from their respective places of residency. In 2022, the project returns for a fourth installation!
The selected Canadian artist will receive $1000 to support the creation of this work. The selected Colombian artist will receive 5 million Colombian pesos. We are excited to share that the work produced by this year’s finalists will be printed (limited edition run) as well as shared through the digital platforms of the two partners!
Project Description & Application:
A Canadian artist and Colombian artist will jointly develop and create a comic art project around the theme of “invitation.” The two artists selected for Blind Date will be expected to:
*Deliver a total of 8-12 pages of comic, or the webcomic equivalent, to be hosted online and formatted for digital audiences *Meet digitally at least three times (for example through Skype, video calling, screenshare, etc.) with ongoing correspondence between meetings *Submit official documentation of the artistic process *Complete and submit all aspects of the project by April 15, 2022
Interested CANADIAN artists should submit the following documents to email@example.com by February 22, 2022. Successful applicants will be contacted by March 1st:
