Comics Festival 2005 - Part 0

"Welcome to Comics Festival!
"Comics Festival! was put together for two reasons: to highlight some of the great work by Canadian cartoonists available in better comic shops everywhere, and to spotlight comics from the great writers and artists attending this year’s Toronto Comic Arts Festival."

That's how we kicked off our first Comics Festival! book in 2005. We think we did a good job with our lofty goals, and we'd like to thank all of the creators who were a part of the book, and all of our sponsors. In particular, we'd like to thank our brilliant cover artists Darwyn Cooke (right) and James Jean (left) for giving us one of the nicest-looking Free Comic Book Day titles ever. You can click on both images to see full-sized versions. Also, if you're so-inclined, giant poster versions of both covers are available for sale in The Beguiling's webstore.
We're making the 2005 book available in advance of Comics Festival! 2007, premiering at finer comic shops everywhere on Saturday, May 5, 2007: otherwise known as FREE COMIC BOOK DAY. You can find out more about this year's book and the stores where you can find it at http://www.torontocomics.com/tcaf/fcbd. For now though, sit back and enjoy our very first effort!

Nosir, we did one in 2005, and one in 2007, matching up with the Toronto Comic Arts Festival years.
