COMICS FESTIVAL 2007!
Welcome to Comics Festival 2007! It's a brand new comic book featuring tons of stories from Canadian creators! You can pick up your copy of COMICS FESTIVAL 2007! on Free Comic Book Day, Saturday May 5, 2007, at participating Comic Book Retailers. We've put together a list of retailers that are guaranteed to have the book on Free Comic Book Day, but if you don't see a retailer near you, make sure to visit the FREE COMIC BOOK DAY website and the Comic Shop Locator Service, both located to your right!

About COMICS FESTIVAL!
Comics Festival! 2007 is designed to be comprised of short, stand-alone works that evoke the larger catalogue of the creators involved. It serves to function as being 'new work' for a variety of talented creators, and introductary pieces to new or 'civilian' readers. COMICS FESTIVAL features:

  • Over 30 pages of comics content!
  • More than 90% Canadian Content!
  • Biographical and back-catalogue information for all of the creators involved, making the book a handy resource for new readers looking for perennial sellers from these creators.
  • A "PG-13"  rating, making the book safe for all ages, but intended for older readers who are beginning to discover the world of graphic novels.
  • We put the book together for to highlight some of the great work by Canadian cartoonists available in better comic shops everywhere, and to spotlight comics from the great writers and artists attending this year's Toronto Comic Arts Festival, being held in Toronto, Canada August 18th and 19th, 2007! If you like any of the stories in this book, check out the biographies to the right, which have details and ordering info on all of the other in-print work from our contributors!

Frequently Asked Questions about Free Comic Book Day

What is Free Comic Book Day (FCBD)?
Free Comic Book Day is the newest Holiday out there, it's the one where you go to comic book specialty shops across North America and get free comics.

Are all of the comics free?
Not exactly! Participating publishers have made special issues with the FREE COMIC BOOK DAY logo on them, and those are the freebies. One of those books will be COMICS FESTIVAL!

So any comic book store will have these?
Sadly, no. Not every comic store chooses to participate in Free Comic Book Day, a day designed to get people to read comics... Some stores do participate, but they don't get every book available either, despite the fact that they can.

So even if I go to a comic book store on Free Comic Book Day, I might not be able to get a free comic book?
    Yeah, which is unfortunate.

    That sucks.
Don't give up hope! The easiest way to make sure a comic shop near you participates in Free Comic Book Day is to check the list of stores a little further down this page. You can also ask the retailer in your area, visit the Free Comic Book Day Website for stores in your area and check to see if they'll be stocking COMICS FESTIVAL 2007.

I checked, and my shop is either not participating or isn't getting COMICS FESTIVAL! What can I do?
Well, first off, ask'em again. You're a customer, vote with your wallet! Also, check out the list of participating retailers at FreeComicBookDay.com. If none of that works for you, COMICS FESTIVAL! will be given away for free during The Toronto Comic Arts Festival, August 18th and 19th, 2007, and will be available throughout the month of May at various spots around the city of Toronto.

That's not going to work either.
Dude, too bad. TCAF 2007 is going to be awesome. You really oughtta come.

    You're killing me.
We'll do our best to make the book available either online or for 'sale' after Free Comic Book Day, but as this is a promotion for comic specialty stores, we REALLY WANT YOU to get your copy at a comic shop. This is gonna be an awesome book, so do your best to ensure your local comic shop has it!

    I Still have questions, actually.
Check out the official Free Comic Book Day website at http://www.freecomicbookday.com!
